Just got this from newegg on sale, PSA the monitor is LG Philips LP173WF4-SPF5 and seems overclocking friendly. Mine is doing 90hz and 96hz with no frame skipping. I tried adding 100 with CRU but for some reason, it wouldn't show up as an option in the control panel.

Hi, would you explain how you did this? I too have the same laptop and, have tried following instructions on CRU's website blog. I simply cannot get custom resolutions with Hz added. Nvidia control panel doesn't give me option to customize resolution. Intel GPU blocks it saying, "it exceeds the limits"...

Disregard. Updating Intel drivers to latest release allowed me to, add custom Hz settings in display properties. Works great!

Does anyone know if a UHD screen can be used to replace the FHD screen as in the Nitro/Predator series? Use
AUO B173ZAN01.0. which is 4 lane EDP UHD 17.3 screen. Thanks

(understand 40-40 4 lanes EDP cable will be needed; it is 40 pins on m/b end and it is EDP)

I have an 18.4 UHD EDP (yes it exists) screen with a 40-40 EDP cable, but it won't come on when connected to the m/b (not sure if there is a power limitation as the keyboard lights do not come on either) (strangely when I connect back the original FHD screen, the screen and the keyboard come back on) (when no screen is connected the keyboard lights also come on) There is some wattage difference (don'r see voltage difference) but not anything I think the laptop could not handle. The keyboard lights not coming on when connecting the 18.4 uhd screen is odd.

I have done a similar swap before on a VN7-793g Nitro 17 (replaced the FHD screen with a UHD screen without issues)

    Thanks for any input.
