    Hello all

I've been having trouble with my computer as of the last month or so and was wondering if anybody could be of help.

Essentially, I'm having trouble installing new software on to the computer. In recent times I've failed in installing Adobe Illustrator CS3, updates to iTunes, a printer driver and most worrying of all, SP1 for Vista.

I am currently using Vista Home Premium 32 version and have used some of its features to analyse the issues affecting the installations. With Illustrator I get this message in the Vista error logger thingy:

'Product: Adobe Linguistics CS3 -- Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\d9c8d1.rbf. System error 5. Verify that you have access to that directory.

and the error code attached to the SP1 install is 'error code 80070005'.

My preliminary investigations have shown that these are both linked to permissions issues but I can't fathom further than that.

The issue isn't with all software, for example I installed the game STALKER Clear Sky earlier today and it worked fine so I am baffled as to why some things can be working and others not.

    So, any ideas?

    Ben
