I've read on these forums how to recover the BIOS for the Acer Aspire 7720Z (or similar), everything goes as expected until the laptop is supposed to shutdown?

So I've downloaded the 7720Z BIOS (1.45) from Acer's website and renamed the .fd file to ICL50HW.FD and burned this to a CD.

Battery and AC removed and Fn+Esc held in then AC plugged in, power light flashes orange briefly.

Press power button then release Fn+Esc, insert CD, fan is spinning and CD drive spins up for a few seconds.

Then that's it after 30 mins+ the fan is still spinning and when I eventually switch off and switch on again back to square one.

I've heard BIOS v1.11 works better but can't seem to source this?

Can anyone please help me further?
