If I wiggle the ac adapter power plug the screen gets dimmed since I have the power settings to dim the screen when on battery only. Does my Acer Aspire 7741 have a soldered DC-in jack or a cabled jack? If it's a cable that plugs in the motherboard I can order one now. Thanksforthe help.

I opened the laptop and the dc jack is a cabled unit. It's not soldered in. After cleaning it out with rubbing alcohol it seems to be fine for now. Oh well, that was interesting and fun.
