Hi everybody! I was wondering if someone knows how to open an Acer Aspire 7741G in order to clean its fan. It reaches high temperatures ~80degrees quite easy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Maybe an idea from where to download a service manual for this thing...

Start with cleaning the air vents with a gas duster (canned air).

Service manual for 7741 is not available but the one for 5741 is. At first glance these are almost identical the only difference being the size and if history is something to go by- that is the case.

I'm having the same issue. There isn't a nice convenient panel that I can see, that would allow me to remove the area covering the fan, in order to clean it.

I even tried the removing the entire back, but I'm missing part of the process, as I can't get it apart.

Hopefully someone who cleans their's internally will come along.

I've removed the link to a service manual- we're not allowed to share them here due to copyright issues.
You did find exactly what I hoper you would on your own though. :)

    Thanks.

I had a look at the technical manual, and this method saves some steps, which is good, because it's an unnecessary pain on this model. The next time I purchase a laptop, I'm only going to buy one that allows for quicker access to the maintenance areas.

I've decided I'm going to RMA it this time, and have them re-do the thermal paste and clean it. I'm dropping out of the warranty period very shortly, so I'm glad I'll know how to do it myself, the next go around.

    Thanks for the info, gents.
