I've had my Acer Aspire 8920G and I think some of my speakers are slowly starting to go.

A while ago, maybe a month or two after I bought it, I realized that the left side (ones on the front) speaker doesnt sound very loudly during the self test.

Now, my center speaker isn't sounding at all during tests. I just installed the new Realtek drivers someone posted, but that didn't help that.

The speakers were really good on the computer, but I'm afraid without the center speaker, this is going to sound really bad.

I already need to send it in to get my power charging port fixed, hopefully if I tell them my speakers are dead they will actually do something about it.

It's possible that the speakers just have broken, perhaps you've hit you computer or something that broke something in the speakers. If you have a warrenty then you can go to a computer store and let them fix it. I had the same problems but the guys in the store fixed it. A laptop is very sencetive you know.

I hope your speakers will work again.
