Acer Aspire 8920G - AS8920

hello, i would if anyone can help to me, i have this acer 8920G and need to recover the bios but without display that allowme to see on screen dialogs, maybe and is what i ask ? It is INSYDE H02, Phoenix Insyde ( New Style ), i dont know, i tried to recover the crisdisk and so on InsydeH02 recover process but still same, the system seems to be right but stall at blank display and wont turn off after process ( maybe does wrong files)
, I ask : What kind of BIOS is on it ?
How i can see the proper BIOS FILE Naming that i need to fix before i start the process again,? If the VGA card wont work or fail does <bios trick< is better to do the process without it plugged ?, when i tried the attemps, so many times, as say on here i do step by step CRISDISK and INSYDEH20 but still without know right file name for bios file. Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you will need Crisdisk - the 8920G has a Phoenix BIOS (not Insyde). Also, you must use a USB floppy drive, not a flash drive, for the recovery, as Acer didn't build flash drive support into the boot block of the 8920G BIOS.

What you toldme is like what i feel about The Bestia (8920G), but i dont have as you the right point to see that, not much experienced on Acer laptop´s. Now if you canhelp to me a bit more or anyone that read this, i have a few questions, I tried what you say "CRISDISK" as i know to do but not success, for now as i writed i only want to leave as normal way " without display " No VGA card inside it, but i think if is a way to do i will recover the standar Acer bios and when i win it will see to make any changes to get ready VGA.
I have all bioses that is there at ACER FTP site for this one and at WEB Support site : BIOS FILES : v1.05, v1.06, v1.08, v1.013, v1.14, v1.15, v1.16, BIOS_Acer_1.15_A_A, BIOS_Acer_1.16_A_A, ( all thosses have inside vX.XX.ROM file more flash app. for DOS and WINDOWS way´s ) this come from the Acer sites and i meet at Poland site for electronics ( elvikom.pl) that i know and use this : AS8920G Model LE1 BIOS V1.16 6050A2184601-MB-A02.bin, this (red coloured) correspond with the mainboard assembly name version that i see when dismantling it. Ok
What i try to say and ask, is anyone or you which exact bios file name need to be at floppy disk ( i had a USB-FDD more few floppy´s ) and which kind of WINCRIS platform x86 ór x64 ( i see its ) will try to do on the working system where i writing now and i will made the rescue system (x64 Windows 7 machine ) for the Acer Aspire 8920G-6A3G25Bn, thanks in advance.

 

You need to rename the BIOS file to "BIOS.WPH", and copy it into the directory where WINCRIS.EXE is, before running Wincris and creating the crisis disk.

Hello, as i know i already make all its and not success and now i want to ask about other thing : maybe is any wrong about i do all this of preparing the rescue files at WINDOWS 7 Ultimate 64 bits machine, while maybe software dont like that? related to flash app´s, disk maker´s so on ? Thanks

 

Hi, for thosses who´s try to help me, THANKS A LOTS, until i dont get really throught its but help favours are Wellcome ever. As we can see about my laptop, it is one of the made like wrong stuff by the branch´s, please maybe yours dont get exact mind s about what i said, it The Acer Aspire 8920G-6A3G25BN that is a victim of they and ofcourse me, it a middle up expensive laptop, weigh one but beauty and with a lot of perfomance to bring on it, now i leave the things and come to say what i have for now with :
last night after some attemps, i a bit tired and try one more thing.
I fixed with CRISDISK to make again one more floppy to use with the external USB-FDD, but what i do is, unzipped CRISDISK to at the root disk partition and without a folder C:\somefiles, unzipped the first release of the bios for this laptop and copy it to the same location of CRISDISK, i´ve deleted the included one BIOS.WPH (sample) and renamed mine as it bios.wph, fired up WINCRIS, was made the thing on the floppy, i moved it to the Acer laptop, without battery, power cord plugged, ofcourse all of this on the laptop without a screen where i can see how will go, i´ve : >plugged the floppy on it, plugged the battery and the power cord, i´ve tik at time FN + ESC and push down power button ( i can say that the keyborad seems to not work or light , but really when you tik keys system get what you input ), i seen as same other times but now i tried and leave all this up for long time ( im tired and want to have rest on my bed ), Now at the morning when im able come back to see what is on, removed everything´s on here, shutdown the power, take out the floppy, battery and everything on it, take back to power it, with battery, HDD and OOD ( this ones are empty, no files, no system, nothing on its, does the things i made early and only want to check if the laptop come to read anythings,( here is not screen to see anythings ) i fired up and seen it is reading over the storadge is plugged and lighting the propers led´s, all synthoms seen is good, i open the ODD bay and put a Linux Firewall System DVD copy that start up without any intervention and SUCCESS, it is loading everything form the DVD, now i need to made about the VGA card bios to get it to work, but again, THANKS a LOT.

I need and not glad about, i need to say here that after some inquiries to Acer´s Branch with the ways they provide ( mail to spain acer´s support, mail to europe acer´s support, calls to to spain acer´s support, some paper´s, guides, and so on from Acer Branch maker )

Hello to EVERYBODY, i am back with the brick, i´ve kept it for a long but all times i think to get again and see what can i to do.
Now is the time :
I´ve started on it again and only here i will let what i see when i do something.
This is made why i know many about people said when maybe need to use a WINCRIS recovery process and similars.
My Acer AS8920G with motherboard 6050A2184601-MB-A02 has the next :
all things on it but not HDO, power cord plugged, batery on place, push power : all become like normal ( of course nothing on screen ) dash board on lighting, you can see controls moving light when touch its, system look on ODD if any to read, something you tick to keyboard dont have success, external usb keyboard all times off, if you plug usb flash, it light as normal on check time.
If not batery, as normal push power button, all is same.
I explain all above why i want the next to be cleared, when try to do recovery procedure : floppy usb method with wincris tool and bios.wph renamed from original laptop acer bios.
With this Acer i checked : if you try to do with power cord plugged and without batery : nothing hapens until you stick keyboard special keys procedure ( nothings hapens different than normal above ).
If you do same but without power cord but batery inside : same
But if you try and let USB Floppy plugged, batery in place and power cord plugged you do special keys or not the system becomes to read two short times on floppy, wait quiet around teen seconds and start to read / find long time(maybe get 1 minute or a bit more) like system still reading the floppy looking for any thing exact one that i seems never meet, then stop for long and if you leave all to stay after a few minutes back again long read time
If you shutdown using power button 4 seconds it get off, then push power again, nothing seems for screen and after long minutes it check again on floppy, if you take floppy out, still lighting all as normal but not more.
This is made after one more time mainboard visual inspection, all dissasembled and fixed again, except CMOS batery, i kept out.
I know this is long history but i want anybody meet this and see what is on this machine symptoms.
