Hey, last week i had 1 vertical pink line come on my screen and i dont know why because i hadnt dropped it or anything, but ever since i have been getting more and more of them until today when i turned it on and theres a big group of them.

I was wondering if i brought a new lcd for it would this fix this problem?

And also how easy are they to fit by yourself if you dont really know much about computers?

    Thanks for any help.

    simple test:
connect an external monitor and see if the lines go away.

If they still show on an external monitor then the GFX card is bad.

    then there is the problem.

replacing the screen is a bit fiddley.
But there isn't really much that can go wrong if you order the right parts.

except for a few minor scratches you might make when prying the screen open.

Before you go ahead and buy an LCD screen, and if your inverter wire is easily accessed, I suggest you try reseating it since it might only lie there..diagnose the cause first, or you might just be wasting money or something.

EDIT: I think Acers have their wires under the switch cover, and is easily pried, or with screws.

The inverter is irrelevant to this problem. Inverter only lights up the backlights.

But it's still a good idea to re-seat the cables that are connected to the screen.

agree. the inverter would not cause this.

a loose lcd cable or failing lcd is the culprit.

I'd suggest opening up the laptop and resetting LCD cable on both ends (one that connects to the motherboard and one that connects to the LCD itself).

Actually, I had lines that looked exactly the same on my Dell E1705 and they were caused by failing LCD. Replacing it fixed the problem for me.
