    Dear Forum Members!

I would appreciate some help! I have an Acer 8935g laptop with a ATi 4670XT (approx 7000 pts in 3DMark06) and I would like to get something even better!
The problem is that I cannot find anything on eBay or here in the forums, neither Alibaba...
My requirements: (if you are not game for some extreme things stop reading now) :D

    - it should be a nVidia card OR an ATi with kexts for OSX with full GPU acceleration!
    - of course it should do dx11
    - at least 512Mb RAM, if possible GDDR5
    - 3DMark06 score should be above 8000
    - TDP should be capped around 45W
    - (if possible do not break my ability to switch between 4500MHD)
    - it should be a MXM 3.0 type "B" with memory chips only on one side
    - Max budget is $300, but the cheaper the better! :)

If anyone has a little tip or advice where to start looking i would be very grateful!

Yes! It prolongs your battery if you do not use it constantly, but if there is a sudden blackout, you may loose data and other consiquences.

I have a mate, with a 8935g-664g50Bn, Core 2 Duo, 2.2 ghz, 4gb ram, with Ati Radeon Mobility HD 4670 with 1024 ram, with windows 7 ultimate x64.

Unfortunately, when he plays games, after 1-2 minutes the screen start flashing in different colors, and the computer stops responding. What could be the problem?

    Tnx.

Glad we finally got an Owners Lounge for the 8935G! Anyone mod theirs yet? I put in 8 GB RAM and a Core 2 Duo T9900 @ 3.06 GHz. It's got 2 x 500 GB HDDs in it at the moment. I've got a Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 240 GB SSD on the way for it.

i might get an ssd drive for mine also, but i need some space so i will have to do some saving up for my 640gb minimum :p
    --
and mine is also modded , intel core 2 extreme x9100 3.06ghz
    --
and i want to upgrade my ram from normal 4gb to 8gb,
5er driver i see have 8 gb, at 1066mhz, is that the fastest ram this machine can run? or i can go 1600mhz or higher ? and if not on 8gb of ram then 4gb ram at 1600mhz or higher.

    Wow, quiet lounge :D
Either nobody bouught this model, or everyone who did is totally satisfied with it, hehe...

Anyhow, I have one, bought it a couple of years back for use when I was away from home in my truck all week. A bit overkill you might think, but I wanted a decent screen size for watching DVD's from the other side of the cab, and playing games & general office duties. Oh, and my Athlon XP3000 system died and needed replacing
Anyhow, it's done me proud over the years, even took it to a couple of gaming parties, and held up quite nicely against the big desktop rigs.

5er driver, been reading your stuff with interest as I'd like a couple of mods to keep the thing ticking along nicely. SSD for boot & apps and relegate the HDD for storage duties and a faster CPU'd be nice as I've only got the 2.0 GHz part.

Time to get the screwdriver out, methinks :p

Hello, does anyone know if a 8940 motherboard = cpu etc can be put in this chassis?

I've also had my laptop a few years and has done me well. I'm currently experiencing USB port damage, graphics card issues and "motherboard damage" however still being used daily.

I've been watching this forum for some time mainly the bios update and the hardware update threads. Since I am thinking of putting in a replacement mobo I'm thinking would it be better to try upgrade and also since the 8940 supports i7 well that is all that needs to be said.

I was looking at this page HERE they seem to suggest the similarities in the chassis for sure.

    Thanks in advance,
