    hi, new member here.

I am deciding to buy either Acer Aspire 8942G or Asus G73JH.

I have some questions in regard to this and would greatly appreciate if people can give me some advice/information/opinions on these:

    1) When will either of these 2 models be available for general sale? Especially Taiwan since I plan to buy a laptop with traditional Chinese keyboard / TC Windows 7

2)How much will either of these cost approximately?

3)From the info I gathered, the only difference between these 2 is just the monitor size. Is there any other hidden difference that I missed?

4)Any other opinions on how they stack against each other?

    Thanks! :)

    Hey, welcome to the forums.

    1) g73jh will be shipped around mid-late feb, and I believe Acer Aspire 8942G will be shipped soon also.
    2) http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=G73JH-A1&Category_Code= go to the link and customize and see how much it comes out for you. 8942G will cost around 1457.19 EUR (~ 2092 dollars). more information here (you can customize 8942g also)
    3) GPU is different. more detail on #4.
    4) http://translate.google.com/transla...owpost.php?p=134637&postcount=238&sl=de&tl=en
go to this link. it has a Mobility Radeon 5850 with 1024MB GDDR3 (Core Clock: 625MHz, Memory Clock: 800MHz)
this means G73jh will outperform the 8942g.
g73jh is included with Mobility Radeon 5870 with 1024MB GDDR5, and it'll be better than GTX 280M (well, that's what people are expecting ;) we gotta wait and see the real-world benchmarks.)

    allanh,

Your creation of this thread is somewhat a double posting. Since you began this discussion in the G73JH Crew Members Lounge ( here), and so that I am not double posting, I have more appropriately replied to your original post.

    :)
