    Hi
This is my first post on this forum I am stumpped to this problem which has started on my 9300 Laptop

When trying to play any kind of media (Avi, Divx ect) from hard disk or DVD I am getting a grid like pattern allover the display, but other apps like Word, & web browser are fine. I have uninstalled XP Codecs reinstalled done the same with K lite pack. I have tried Vlc player, Win media classic & Crystal player all give the same result.

I have tried graphics drivers from Acer website & Nvidia the 1s from Nvidia would not install for some reason, came up with error cant find or something similar I checked & double checked to make sure these were the right drivers. Is there another driver I could try?

As a last resort I reformatted and loaded XP Pro with SP2 and the problem is still there I have a gut feeling it may be the onboard GPU, if so would it be worth trying to get it fixed?

If i boot in safe mode any kind of media playback works fine then if i uninstall the Nvidia driver once booted back into nornal mode I can watch media without problems but only at low resolution which is not praticle.

Does any1 know of a workaround or am I stuck?

    Any help appreciated
    Thanks
