I was getting BSOD on my Acer Aspire 9300 laptop.
So I rebuilt it from the Recovery partition to factory build state .

I installed Windows update & AVG 8 antivirus and BSOD reappeared

I found I could boot into safe mode OK.

    I reviewed C:\WINDOWS\Minidump with

    WhoCrashed - http://www.resplendence.com/downloads

and it highlighted Acer eLock Management component eLock2FSCTLDriver.sys was the problem

A quick google search and I found other where experiencing the same problem

    How to fix
    uninstall Acer eLock Management

    Boot to safe Mode (F8)
    Enable windows installer service
    Create a Registry entry,
open command prompt ( Run->Cmd). Type the following command in the Window-
    REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\MSIServer/VE/TREG_SZ/F/D “Service”
    net start msiserver.

    Then Uninstall Acer eLock Management

    All is now fine.
