Yup, I bought the laptop. :(
It's been a week and I have only installed Microsoft Office 2007 (Beta 2), Microsoft Streets&Trips and Adobe Photoshop CS2 (w/ ImageReady CS2).

I aready have problems with it, when I first boot it up it takes about 10 minutes in the screen where it says Windows XP (media center) and the little scroll bar is moving. After I boot it up and start XP (media center) every few minutes the whole computer just freezes up for a few seconds, then unfreezes. I have not plugged in anything and it was not this way from the start. !!! HELP !!!

I could use any suggestions please help.

If you have your own copy of Windows, it's always best to install that. Maybe you could also go into Safe Mode and stop all processes while booting up (Start -> Run -> "msconfig" -> Click on "Startup" tab -> Disable All). Dunno how much of a difference it can make, but it's worth a try.

If it worked well the day you got it.........i would say try a fresh reinstall with the recovery disc............if its still that slow....i would contact acer support.

If you are going to have problems with your notebook.....it will usually be in the first couple weeks...........this is why custom pc manufacturers (not dell) do a 48 hour burn in/stress test before sending out new rigs
