I have had this laptop for about a month now and wanted to comment on what a great machine it has been. I got it for $829 on tigerdirect. I has 512mb ram a 17 inch glossy 1440x900 display. an 80 gig hard drive a slot loading dvd burner a remote that fits in the pcmia slot. and a celeron 1.5 it also came standard with a 8 cell battery. first of all this thing flys compaired to my desktop. I benchmarked my athlon 1700xp and the celeron M outdoes it! not only in just that but memory hard disk performance etc. it runs really great! not only that the intel GMA 900 would actually play GTA vice city at 1440x 900 and it ran GREAT. I get over 3 hours battery life! and also it has a neat little acer utility that will let you throttle the processor speed down so you can get even more savings without buying a pentium m. The wireless reception is great and even the build quality is very good the hinges are sturdy not the best but good! and pushing on the back of the display shows no ripples on the screen. I know my review aint perfect but I want others to know the aspire 9500 series is a great 17 inch alternative to other computers in the same class like the e1705.
