I have the same problem as everyone else with this beast .. the ram memory

With 3GB or 4GB of ram installed the operating systems shows a black screen (both windows xp and linux tested) but with 2GB ram installed everything works fine.

Also ive noticed that in the bios it will only show 3GB main ram even when 4GB is installed which is strange

Is there a modded phoenix bios out there that can fix this memory issue

    Thanks for your time

I have an ACER9805 and ran into the same issue of memory, basically ACER is lying about the 4gig stuff. It simply won't accept 4gig no matter what is tried,so that being said I converted my machine to 64bit by changing out the CPU, yours already has the 64bit CPU, and upgraded my OS to Windows7 64bit and it happily accepted the 4gig and really rocks. I am experimenting to see if I can run 8gig, don't know yet. Upgrading the Operating System to Windows7 64bit was worth the effort alone.
