    No-go. Very old CPU, poor battery life. 700$ is too much for this laptop. You can add a couple o' hundreds more and get Montevina platform, but I'd look into i7s instead if I were you.
    Also, build quality of this machine won't make too happy either.

    I thought the t6600 was pretty decent, no?

    i7 would be nice but thats getting very expensive...

    plus it think it has a decent video card ati 4570, instead of the standard intel gma 4500.

    I suppose I should go fill out one of those, "which laptop should I buy" thingys....

    T6XXX is not decent, you need at least T9XXX/P8XXX not to end-up upgrading the entire system again in a year from now.
    4570 is enough to watch movies, but if you game occasionally it will disappoint you. I'd look into P8700/P9600/T9400 and above for CPU as well as 4650+ for ATI and GT240+ for Nvidia cards. But better wait a few months, a huge refresh is coming both for CPU and GPU segments.
