    here in Canada just spoke with someone at NCIX, they just got the word from Acer, no reason was given but makes you wonder. This laptop is popular and just recently released. They have only enough stock to fill backorders.

    I've seen something similar at other companies aswell, before buying my Acer i was after a MSI, but the model i wanted, which had quite a nice setup and was cheaper compared to the competitor's was withdrawn after being on the market for like 1 week. Curious thing is that there seems to be no apparent reason for this, cause people weren't complaining and it had good reviews.

    Possibly. There is 5741G coming and it's supposed to be 10% more expensive than 5740G even though it's gonna be equipped with nVidia GT 330M that's slower than HD 5650 (GT 330M is a rebadged GT 240M)
