Hello all i just bought a Acer Aspire AS5920-6914 for my wife at circuit city for $599.
    1.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5450,
    2GB DDR2 PC2-5300
    250GB,
    DVD±RW DL,
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    Windows Vista Home Premium,
    15.4" LCD

Well my question is if anyone know if i can upgrade the cpu? I want to put a T8100 cpu in it. The cpu in it now is good but i want to make it a little more future proof. Thank for all the help.

GM965? Yeah I think you can put a T8100. Here you can see a guy who upgraded his T5250 with T8300.

not that model... but it is very upgradeable

you can go higher than the T8300 if you wanted to just BLOW good money

the T7300 or T8100 are good options

the T8100 and T8300 are said to be the best bang for the cost!!

    later,

i was looking at the t8100 but the t7300 and t7500 are cheaper(on ebay). I here the T8100 is better for battery life which i want. since she uses it alot while traveling.

T8100 use less power alright - its a 45nm processor. Slightly better battery life.

Thats what i'll go with.Should be more than enogh for what she does with it. Its a gift for the wife when she gets back from the states.(well if circuit city gets it here in time them and best buy have some slow shipping, over here at least).

went up a little. system fills real smooth.Runs very cool too. The heatsink was a little tight getting out/in but after that it was a breeze. now i'm just waiting on the 4gb memory to come in and i'll be done with this.

yep it works great. total cost of upgrades and notebook is $807,includes notebook,T8100,4gb memory. Great deal, great non-gaming notebook. this thing is completely silent.
