!!!ATTENTION!!!
Is This 4 REAL???!!
Core duo, 120Gb, 1 Gb RAM, + NVIDIA 7900gs 256 MB 4 JUST 900 USD!!!!!
-
guess so - its huge!
-
Did you notice that it is almost NINE POUNDS????? If it is true (which I assume it is) no thank you!
--ssx-- -
Sounds like something that could be used exclusively at a desk all day; perhaps a cheaper, less attractive alternative to a 17" iMac. (Just add a keyboard and a mouse and a stand.) This would be great for people that want a computer that doesn't make much noise/generate too much heat, especially with a rather low DPI (for longer distance viewing).
-
Perhaps someone who have this machine could give us a clue??
-
It says: "Graphics type: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950"
-
No, it says
"Graphics type: nVIDIA® GeForce Go 7900 GS"

Honestly, I would really chalk this up to some sort of mistake on Circuit City's part (especially since the listing does seem to keep going back and forth).
I mean, really, what is more likely? That this is actually a notebook with a 7900GS for only $900, or that someone somewhere is screwing around with the price listings?
I'm not even sure if the Intel 950 graphics it showed previously are correct though. Doing a google search on this model number says that it has a GeForce 7300, and http://global.acer.com/products/notebook/as9410.htm confirms that.

I agree with Zadillo on the price. A 7900 GS for $900. The graphics on the spec page seem to change, if you open the page up a few times. Also, i don't think Acer would bundle in such a processor with a 7900.

That page says 7300. -
Well they also have the FSB wrong, so it may be a typo. Too big for my taste, but if I still had my ultraportable I would def go for this over a desktop.
-
No, the FSB on them is correct. Remember, the processor is listed as T2050, which operates on a 533 MHz.
-
Wow, who cares if its big, 7900GS for less than 1000? WOW! Although, I too think its a typo... not surprised if someone orders it and finds out its just intergrated graphics
-
Yeah prob just a typo, going by the spec sheets. Plus Acer would be pretty stupid to have such a big mismatch in specs - a 1.6 GHz / 533 Core Duo with a 7900GS makes no sense.
-
Gosh, something's fishy there - I do admit that Acers sell dirt cheap, but it's too good to be true. Hence, it might not even be true. I'll contact Circuit City and ask 'em what's up with that (=
-
im on the phone with them right now, asked the dude 15 mins ago and he still isnt back...so as we all know, asking the village idiot isn't the best way to do things, I might drive up there in the morning and tell ya guys the scoop! and if it's what it seems, i'll be posting with this new baby on my lap
-
wow, it'd be nice if you could go through all that trouble. Well I don't think it'd be a trouble if it is what they claim it to be
-
Guys, it was too good to be true. I just bought this about 2 hours ago (5:00-6:00p.m.). I come home, open the box, sticker says Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. Although I'm hoping it's a wrong sticker, I think I'm just going to go and return this now. Think I should plug it in and make sure?
EDIT: I even asked the guy to type the model number into the computer and we both looked at it and it said NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900. I am also looking athe Circuit City page and like you all said when you refresh it keeps going back and forth between the Intel grapics and NVIDIA. -
I too posted on this yesterday, and come to find out it's a big fat lie, typo, whatever you want to call it. Circuit City you broke my heart....not too bad though since I wasn't holding my breathe that this was the real deal.
-
Geeez..
It's true that it's too good 2 B true!
There's no way that we could get 7900gs notebook for 900Bucks!! -
i HATE TO QUOTE MYSELF
But it's true. This is a scam I drove 45 mins to find out for myself. I made them open the laptop right there in store. They were pissed at me, and I was pissed at them for false advertising, but what ever. They have intel intergrated graphics, and no nvidia what so ever. We tested it wen it powered on and everything.. My dreams aer crushed as well as 2 of my friends who went with me to buy thi slap top
Sorry everyone but its a scam or typo what ever u talk it -
Well, I thank you for your trouble - you might have just saved others from falling into the "trap".
Nice FBI work -
well all of us 5672 x1600 owners can breath a sigh of relief. I was truely hoping for this to work so my little bro could have a competent gaming pc.
-
I went to its product page on the website and now it keeps saying GMA 950, doesn't keep switching back and forth like you guys said it did.
But I went to Acer's website and it says it has an Nvidia Go 7300, whats up with that!? So confused!!!!
Acer Aspire AS9411AWSMI @ CircuitCity!!! (NVIDIA 7900gs) 4 900 USD!!!
