Not sure why it didn't post, but here goes again:

My brand new (2 day old) Acer Aspire is shutting off on its own. Not sure whether it's timed or random, but it's definitely not due to overheating or virus or overuse, at this point. Any ideas?

B940 seems to be the CPU not the model number- what's the model of the notebook?
Have you measured temperature to confirm it's not overheating? If so using what software?

Any particular tasks that cause it to shut down?
