    Hello Community,

I haven an urgent question. I bought the following notebook:

    Acer Aspire Black Edition VN7-591G-755E

I choosed this version because I want to install my own ssd. I choosed Plextor PX-G256M6e .
    1. Can I boot from the M.2 Slot?
    1. Can I boot from the M.2 Slot if I use a SATA SSD?
2.Can I boot from the M.2 Slot if I use a PCIE SSD?
    3. Does it make sense to install a PCIE SSD because im wondering if the motherboard is able to deliver the high speed for the pci ssd or is the performance from a sata ssd on this notebook similar to the pci ssd?

And one big problem I cant see the SSD in the Bios its on UEFI? I just see the hdd

What would you guys think about the idea if its not possible to use the m.2 as boot device:

to install the OS on the HDD on the ssd space ( 8gb) and use the m.2 ssd from Plextor for all my programms?

    Thanks for your help guys!

well, first of all: the M.2-slot in the VN7-591G is "only" SATA, PCIe is not supported, as far as I can tell. perhaps (but I do NOT know that) the PCIe will work, but even then only with mSATA-speeds, so its just a waste of money. simply the mainboard does not support M.2-PCIe

as Acer sells versions of the 591G with SSD+HDD and the SSD is the OS-drive, it should work. . I haven't taken a look at my 791Gs BIOS, so sorry, I can't help there.
