    Hello guys,

I am breaking my head about this. I don't seem to find or be able to change/locate the temperature warnings and settings on my notebook. I downloaded a tool for monitoring the CPU temp but this doesn't let me do any settings. I'm running an acer aspire 9410 series. My empowering technology programs are eSettings/ePower/ePerformance. And latest BIOS version.

Is there an empowering technology program for controlling the temp?
If someone has an idea I would be very grateful..

    Cheers

    Stanny

You could try ePerformance or ePower (not sure) and change CPU speed from MAX, HIGH, and MEDIUM (at least those are the possible states in my laptop, it may be slightly different from yours). CPU speed is related to system temperature.

Yes,you can use ePower to lower your CPU's clock and voltage and by that your
temperature will be lower.I have Turion 64 X2 1.6Ghz and when set on max CPU speed the clock is 1.6Ghz and voltage 1.075v and my temperature is around 56C and when set on Medium speed the clock is 800Mhz and voltage 0.80v and temperature falls down to 45C.

For temperature warnings I think you can use Notebook Hardware Control (NHC) but it's not free I think but you can try out the demo.

Then perhaps you'll need to downgrade Acer Empowering Framework.

Let me offer all of you guys some advice, forget all of that acer epower garbage software and use RMclock. It is a fantastic program that uses very little resources. It gives you the power to undervolt all the multipliers of the CPU as well as to control which of them are in use. At 1.6Ghz my voltage is 1.00v (it could go lower) this really helps with temperature control on max load. Also if you are cruising the web and listening to music 800mhz will suffice so why not lock the processor at that speed :).

I find NHC easier to use compared to RMClock.
