    Hi All,

my current acer (ferrari 5000) is dying and is out of warrenty unfortunately and i have decided that its time to purchase another one.

i have had a look around and the Acer Aspire Ethos 8943G seems to a very good laptop at a reasonable price. can anyone who has/had one of these laptops please give me some feedback as to whether or not it is any good.

here is a link to the laptop

the fingerprint recognition is my main worry, if this somehow broke would it mean that i could not access the laptop? or is there a back up option

any feedback would be great and would help me greatly
    many thanks
    Luke

Go to the 8943g owners lounge thread but in the meantime:

The fingerprint software has a password backup if it fails to read your sweaty finger ;)

I like my 8943g and I stuck an ssd in it so it boots in 20 - 30 seconds :)

I play high resource games without a problem.

only down side is that the speakers aren'r all they're supposed to be but they are ok.

ah thats good that it has a password back up thats a big relief :D

    whats an ssd???

yeah have read that the sound isnt the best but does that make much of a difference on your gaming experience?

what spec do you have? is it the 4/8/16gb ram? are there any software compatibility problems with it at all?

sorry for all the questions :) will check out the forum you mentioned above and read through it to see what other have to say :)

    appreciate the feedback mate
