Hey :) Any advice on this problem would be appreciated. At Christmas my Brother downloaded the Steam Software for the Acer Aspire laptop in order to play Football Manager Video Game. It would not download at the start so he brought it to a computer shop to get it fixed. It is working fine now but since it has been downloaded the connection speeds for our internet access has slowed down enormously. We get our internet via WiFi in a box connection in one of the bedrooms and the basic speed of upload to all internet sites is way down. Downloading Music, Videos etc takes 4-5 times longer than usual. The Acer we have uses Windows 7 and has 6GB of Memory. I have been on Steam forum and it was suggested if you have recently installed Windows 7 then you maybe need to upgrade the Laptop's Hardware as Steam uses a lot more space on the Windows 7 Program. I don't think we have installed it recently as the Windows 7 label came with the Laptop so pretty confident we have been using it from the start. The other Laptop's in the house are all running at full speed so confident it is not a problem with WiFi connection. Google Chrome is our Internet server so any advice on this and what to do would be extremely grateful before i bring the laptop to the shop and get their advice it would save me the hassle if its a fixable problem from home. Thank You :hi2:

What happens if you disable steam (as in exit the tray app)?

Also please confirm that you have the same issue while connected via Ethernet cable.
