    Hello fellow members.

    Got my girlfriend a acer 521 with the amd chip solution last week, works like a charm and really nice with the hdmi output.

    I find that the netbook sounds a bit to much to (ventilation) and im wondering if any other members can share there thoughts?
    If i got a superheated version or if its how its suppose to be?

    Tried with all the powersaving options etc, but no luck.
    The fan stays on and barely shuts of or spins down.

    Hi,

    is the air from the vent hot or rather cool?
    Also check Task Manager if there is something running in the background which needs much CPU.
    Perhaps it is simply the Flash based screensaver that has been factory preinstalled by Acer. Get rid of this parasite.

    I think either Acer designed these laptops with poor AMD just made these chips run a little too hot.I have the 721, and I find that it can get uncomfortably warm easily (not even from gaming).
