Acer's new AMD Fusion netbook seems to be available (in stock) at Best Buy in Canada:

    Link

    Specs:

    10.1" 1280x720 LED Display
    AMD C-50 Dual Core CPU @ 1GHz (1MB Cache)
    250GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
    1GB DDR3 Memory
    AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics
6 Cell 4400mAH Battery (~6 Hour Battery Life)

Has anyone here picked one up? If so, what's the verdict?

If this is an incremental improvement over the A0521 Aspire One I'd recommend it. got a friend with an A0521 and the slightly older AMD chipset and it works a charm, reasonably fast for a netbook with the ability to deliver good HD video performance and run for many hours on battery. If you want a 2Gig SO DIMM for it, just find anyone here on the forum with a notebook that's upgraded to 8 Gigs and they'll have old 2Gig sticks laying around.

I have the AO521 and it's great. My only regret is that if I had waited a couple of weeks more, I could have gotten the AO522.

If you are happy with a 5-6 hour battery life, I would not hesitate to get this notbook. It'll blow the pants off a similarly priced Atom netbook.

    one caveat though...

The dedicated graphics chipset uses 384MB of the 1GB Ram, which leaves only 616MB for Win 7. Upgrading to 2 GB Ram is a must if you want the full potential of this netbook. Otherwise, with multiple apps open, it constant writes to the HDD.

    EDIT:

I just noticed that the AO522 has a 1280x720 screen resolution. My AO521 only has 1024x600, now I'm wondering if I should sell my AO521 and buy the AO522 instead...Thanks. :p
