I don't even know where to start. I got AAO about 3 months ago. The first month, it was running smoothly, no lagging at all. But recently, when I need to bring this netbook to class, it takes forever to start up. It takes forever loading mozilla firefox and microsoft, and everything in general. A few times, I would be typing up my assignments on microsoft, and this little netbook would blackout and turnoff. Was it because I had it on hybernation/shut down for too long? Was it because it was inactive for too long? (Since i use my lenovo more at home). It frustrates me because AAO is perfect to bring around since it's so light. But it's just too slow!
Is there anyway to fix this?
    Thanks!

    (It runs on window 7)

If it blacks out and shuts off, it sounds like it's hitting the CPU's temperature limit and shutting down. The very slow performance could also be due to the CPU throttling itself down to try and keep cool. I would blow out the fan vents with compressed air, and if that does not fix the problem, send it back to Acer for a warranty repair.

Check the CPU usage- if it's high it may be throttling (although it shouldn't) but the reason of the high CPU usage is the cause of your problem- throttling and shutting down is just a result.

Even 100% CPU usage for long periods of time should not cause throttling or shutting down in a properly cooled computer. I have used my netbook to transcode movies before (suicide, I know), and experienced neither of those issues.
