Fathers Aspire one bit the dust the other day. Was using it, put it down for supper and once he returned it was off. Pushed the power button to find the power light to come on and fan spins as usual.. however no POST, no BIOS, no beeps. I bought him a new computer, but i'd like to get this one working again regardless.

I'm a computer tech, so i've done everything i could.. power supply is good, battery good, screen isnt damaged, ram seems to check out... i'm stumped.i'm convinced i can get this working again but idk.

SO, with a small amount of research i've discovered that it's a semi common issue with acers, specifically aspire one's. People suggest to download the Phoenix Crysis software and the latest bios update... run the untility and copy the .fd file onto the flash, put it in and press fn+esc. I've got nothing. Can't find the .FD file but i can find the .WPS (wps?) file. put that over and replaced the BIOS.wps file that was already there from the utility.

Havent tried any other flash drives, that's my plan now, but i feel like it isn;t going to do anything. the computer doesn't even appear to be recognising the USB. no activity light. Pressing fn+esc doesnt do anything out of the ordinary.

    Any ideas peeps?
