    Is it ok to download the latest drivers off of ATI's site or do I have to wait for Acer to put out an update themselves?

    Just make sure the graphics model that is installed in your laptop is supported by the ATI driver. ATI will list which graphic cards the driver is comaptible with. If it is you are fine to install it you do not have to wait on Acer.
