I got a AO756 today after waiting for a week to ship to me. there are no in store stocks, so exchange will take time. the speed of the computer is awesome, but the build quality is very poor as many people have been telling me.

so the touch pad sucks, I know that already, I also expect several keys on the keyboard will not click properly, but there's one button that really screws up everything for me right now, my left control button. it doesn't bounce properly and sometimes it light clicks and the input doesn't get registered.

I am considering exchanging for another one, but from what I know, I might get a worse keyboard next time. left control key is very important, but is it worth the risk of getting a worse computer next time?

is there an easy way to fix the keyboard myself without breaking the warranty?

I have no issues or complaints with my keyboard. Sorry that you do. The only fix is a new keyboard. Exchange it or buy another one and return this one.

I have had my AO D257 since July of last year and its worth the price. I haven't had any issues at all with the netbook. The Acer ONe keyboard is solid. I use this netbook for college. I pack it in my back pack full of books and binders. The front led screen bezel is highly glossy thus easily susceptible to scratches. The bezel has gotten scratched all around the bezel after a lot of friction made with the keyboard from the pressure of other things inside by pack.

Oddly enough the keyboard still greatly works. The keyboard has always been a solid since I first bought it. Two of the touch pads attached to the bezel are slowly starting to come off but I can super glue them back :)

I would just tell Acer to use a flat color and very rough texture for the bezel to minimize scratches and scuffs. Plus, to improvise a better touch pad design. I was thinking in buying the front bezel by itself to sand it down and use a paint that is resistant to scratches.

I would recommend that you call Acer and arrange for an exchange. Ebay sells a lot of extra parts for various Acer One models. You can also find keyboards for AO but make sure that they're Acer genuine because I doubt that the generic knock-offs would feel smooth and sturdy.
