Hi, a friend of mine asked me to look into this laptop and was looking for help.

Before posting here I've search NBR with "Acer Aspire One D250" and there were no related posts that appeared. If I missed a thread regarding this, kindly post the reply here. Thanks!

When the power button is pressed, the netbook power button is the only thing that lights up. This is the same case with just the battery on, without the battery on AC power and both. The fan will turn on for only 3 seconds.

I've google searched and tried the following but was unsuccessful.
1.) Flashing the BIOS with a freshly formatted FAT32 USB stick using the BIOS software from the Acer website (v1.28) - no response at all, waited for an hour with the AC power on and the USB stick plugged in.
2.) Taking out the RAM and cleaning the pins with an eraser (yeah, I'm this desperate as this seems to have worked for one user).

I tried as much as I could but I'm stumped.

Hence I'm seeking help here. Help!

I have the same problem. I've tried all of the above, and nothing. I really don't want to buy new memory and find that isn't the problem. Did you ever get yours to work???
