So, its been awhile since i have posted on this forum, and i dont think i have ever used the Acer forum, but imma give it a go, and see what i get

So anyways, my younger sister has an Acer Aspire one she got for X-mas A couple of years ago, an recently, the battery went out, it wont harge in her's, or my moms acer. And now, it seems it wont turn on, the power socket is loose, very loose. So im wondering, is the acer done for for good, or is there any way i can send it off, or even better, re solder it my self.
Im feeling risky today and have opened a Dell Latitude, Toughbook-28, Sony PS3 and other consoles, so im fairly good with my hands and computers, im not scared to open it up and try it myself, Any help or tips or advice would be greatly apprieciated :)

    Thanks in advance

    Danny

    Hi

There are a lot of different builds of the Aspire one but on some at least the power jack is just slotted into a plastic clip on the case. Then a cable runs from the back of the jack to the circuitboard. (sometimes tricky to unplug without removing the mainboard)

So as far as it being loose . . see if the middle pin is missing from the socket (sometimes found hiding in the end of the plug). If so order the spare part (you will need your exact model number to be sure of getting the right thing)

If it is loose in the case but electrically ok there may be another problem - whether you can find that is impossible to say from what you told us

    Thanks for your response.

The pin is still in the Acer and it appears to be loose in the case, im not sure but would that cause the problem? If you hold the part that plugs in to the netbook just right, the lights flash for a split second. Any more ideas?
