    Hello all

I bought this notebook back in November 2008 from Office Depot. Upon using it last night the screen flashed "going into hibernation" (something to that effect) and died out. Tried rebooting (was using power cord at time) and nothing. Tried plugging and unplugging the cord. Tried using the fully charged battery...nothing. The power cord shows a green light on the rectangular box. All I get is the battery light (upper left side on the netbook) that would flash at the beginning an amber colour and then die out. It didn't matter if the battery was in or if notebook was plugged in only using the power cord. No colour shows up on the power button itself when pressed.

Contacted Acer (via email). Gave them the lowdown and did what they suggested - plug and unplug the power cord, install the battery, take it out, even resetting...still nothing.

So I have sent them the latest news and am waiting to hear back from them.

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

    Thanks

Sounds like the same problem I had. I returned mine for repair. When I got it back they said that the mainboard had been replaced.

However I have read of others that have solved what sounds like a similar problem, by flashing the bios using a emergency flashing procedure.
If you google for "aspire one emergency flash bios", you can find descriptions from other people, that might be helpful.
