The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Acer Aspire PQService missing MBR files

    I have an Acer Aspire 6530, which I never burned backup discs for. I am able to gain access to the PQService partition, however I cannot find mbrwrdos.exe or rtmbr.bin anywhere on the computer so I can attempt to rewrite the Acer MBR. I was wondering if anyone could email me those files or know of another way to locate them. I've browsed over many threads here and I seem to have a good grasp on how to fix my problem, I just need those 2 files. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help.
