    Acer Aspire Screen Going Really Dim?

    I have an Acer Aspire 5515, and now whenever I boot it up it suddenly goes REALLY dim after about a minute after getting to the desktop. I can still see well enough to use it if I turn the brightness up all the way, but even with the brightness turned up all the way it is still a lot dimmer than it used to be even on the lowest brightness setting. What's happening, and is this something that is going to get worse?

    try your desktop on a different monitor/screen, it could be the lcd dying.

    I tried it with a different monitor and that one went dim too.

    Not a hardware fault then by the sounds of things. Have you checked the windows/graphics chip settings?

    Maybe the fault lies in the windows power management settings? You can set the brightness of your screen after certain period of time.

    Meaker, I don't know anything about the graphics chip, what do I need to do?

    Mohdfaris, I don't think it's because of the power management settings because I can still adjust the brightness, it just won't get very bright at all now.
