Download Ultimate Vista Tweaker and cut down the shutdown time.

    no other help? :(
I'm tired of waiting for like 2 minute for it to shut down.. boot up is like less than 30-40 second.

Yes during shutdown Vista set a default of 20 sec to shutdown which is overkill
Using Ultimate Vista Tweaker you can shorten it.
However seeing it is 2 mins you might have buggy software or malware on your system.

I have no clue on the original HDD.. I never bother using the original HDD, i only boot the HDD up, made a back up OS from it (eRecovery disk) and then shut it down.. then changed my HDD to a SSD and then installed the OS

my 4810tz-4696 had a slow shut down also.. but with win7 7600... sometimes i had to turn it off by holding the power button.. who knows.. maybe a windows driver issue?

OFFTOPIC: hows the su3500 for daily use?

the SU3500 is fast enough for me, I'm not a power user (as in heavy multitasking). I still can't figure out why is it shutting down slow.

PS: im now using my 4810tz with the original 320gb hdd and it shuts down normally in vista and w7

There is NO SIM SLOT as far as I know, since it is usually located in the battery area. I am not sure about a 2nd Mini PCI-e. I am not going to bother opening it up since I don't need anything connected.

Just to be sure: check how long it takes to log off. Then shut down and measure that too. That shutdown performance monitoring warning entry says your shutdown takes 10s if I am not mistaken.

Log off is really quick.. In the "Shut Down" screen, it takes like 1-2 minute.

wow.. i actually find a fix to my problem.. in msconfig.. on startup.. if i disable GrooveMonitor.. my shut down will take 2-4 minutes to shut down.. if i enable it.. it takes around 10 second to shut down.. weird...
