I'm planning on buying this laptop and I've read a review from engadget.com where it bashes on the laptops poor build quality. I'm afraid that if I use laptop frequently, that I might break it in half or something. I do not want to base my opinion on just one review and want to ask you guys how the build quality is.
I heard the screen bends too much and too easily and the you could feel the keyboard bending in half when you press it too hard.

Personally, I can tell you the build quality is very good on the 4820TG. The only thing that scares people is the small hinges and the thin lid that can be flexed. Overall, the whole laptop is built sturdy. The keyboard has some flex, but it doesn't bend in half. I don't know where you got that from.

This 3820TG is one of the best built computers I've ever owned. It is a pleasure to work on.

I just purchased mine yesterday, and I can vouch for the sturdiness of everything but the screen. You will definitely not want to pick up this laptop by the screen. However, I don't know where the whole "keyboard flex" idea comes from, as mine has barely any.

Pretty happy with the build quality. I do notice a slight flex in the keyboard but not enough to worry me. Its a nice machine so far!

i had the 3820tg and i got a chance to play around with the 4820tg build quality is the same

i would take the apple pro engadget site with a grain of salt.

even if the acer was the best built laptop they would refute it and say something negtive
