Hi all,
First post![]()
Anyway, I very recently bought a new Acer Aspire 8930.
One of the features it offers is Tuba Cinebass Booster.
I've played a Blu-Ray Film and wacthed some music videos at full volume and I can honestly say it doesn't seem as though it's working?
There is little bass, I've read the manual but it's very basic and say's nothing about it really, other that it's earth shattering base? LOL
Is there any control pannel I can go to to turn it up? Set it or anything like that?
Thanks.

Right click the sound in the task bar and go into playback devices, double click speakers and look under enhancements; there you'll find "Bass boost and low frequency protection" check that and then click settings. You can have up to 12db boost (but that will probly blow this lil speaker).
Also remember, if you expect to get the bass you would from a real sub (ie from a surround sound kit or the kill 12" kid next door has in his car), you'll be sadly disappointed. -
I went to where you said but couldnt find the base boost or low frequency protection that you mentioned?
Under the next tab I did find a base boost which went from 0-6, it was on 3,
Lol at the car comment, not looking for anything near that, just wanted to actually hear some bass. -
Hm, well depending on your laptop & chipset/sound card it might be a bit different... maybe a driver update will get you to the +12db, but id still be careful...
+3db is the equivalent of adding a 2nd sub @ same wattage.
+6db is the equivalent of doubling the amp power (double the wattage). -
I dont want to run the risk of blowing the speakers, just wanted to hear the bass.
