    Good day everyone

I am contacting you because I find myself in a bit of a bind , I have recently acquired my new laptop , the acer aspire v3 771 G with intel core i7 ivy bridge , 8gb ram ddr3 , and a nvidia geforce 650M graphics card at 2gb.

My main issue is that whenever i try to launch a video game , the dedicated graphics card does not switch from the integrated one , so all of my programs are runned on the intel (r) hd graphics 4000.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics software for nvidia , but to no avail.
Also tried with driver sweeper to clean nvidia in safe mode , and then reinstall the driver , but still no succes.

Also the nvidia control panel only displays the 3d settings , it has no video options .

I would like if at all possible and if anyone has any idea why this problem occurs , it would be much appreciated and would have my gratitude.

Can you run some sort of a benchmark like a 3D Mark and post a score to verify that it really doesn't work properly?

Assuming it was a 3DMark05 test it is indeed too slow for a GT650M.
    Are the drivers installed properly?
Check your power-profile (as in make sure it's not power-saving)

The power profile used at the moment is high performance , it was one of the first things that i changed when i saw the performance was that bad :).

I did the install , as said in the tutorial , but still did not help , am still experiencing very bad framerate.

Would a full format with a new clean instalation be a viable solution ?

Did you whitelist the exe for the game?

Yes the exe for the game was whitelisted , and the software was installed correctly . Clean sweeper was used in safe mode aswell , and everything done as per instructions :).

I would double check the settings for the game programs and make sure they're white listed and set to use the nvidia gpu before reformatting(you can add exe's to the list and there is another dropdown menu to pick which gpu they use).
And double check that the correct exe is whitelisted ( check task manager while the game is running ). Some games have launchers that load a 2nd exe that might not be white listed.

    Goodluck.

Did the check's according to your last post hatesson , but sadly , it did not help , though i greatly appreciate your and everyone else's support ^^.

I will try some more tricks if they come to mind , and try what is proposed to me aswell by members of the forum, if not , will probably reformat the laptop on a Monday and if that will not help will most probably contact the supplier from which i have bought the laptop.

    Later add!

After a reformat of the laptop , to a clean point i started installing the drivers again and the problem still persists , so most probably will have to call the supplier back tommorow and present the problem to them , acer support still has not answered my ticket , sadly either.

    Later edit

Laptop was sent back into service for verifying , after being checked they changed my motherboard , and now everything is working smoothly.

Thank you all for the support, and just posting here, so you know it has been solved.
