I have an Acer Aspire V3 9890 which was a superb deal for the price, and I really like it. I replaced the HD with a 256GB SSD (sanDisk Ultra Plus) and it just screams. The only dissapointment is the screen. I would love to have a full HD screen on this thing, but I can't find an Acer part number that will fit it. Is it possible to use a screen from a different manufacturer to make this work? Any advice would be appreciated.

Check out LG Philips LP156WF4-SPB1, this one should work.

Thank you so much for looking, however that one --from what I can tell-- has a 30 pin connector but I believe mine has a 4 pin connector. Would the LP156WF4-SLP156WF4-SLBA be a possible replacement?

That is another matter - your cable might be completely different since it's a single LVDS cable and for FHD screen you need a dual LVDS cable. So apart from the screen you will need a new cable.

The screen model I provided is the exact screen used in those 15" Aspire V3s that came with FHD screens straight from factory, so it has to be correct one.

Look for a service manual online for confirmation (start with links in sticky).

So, I've checked the sticky and looked around more via google, but I have not been able to find the service manual for my model the Acer Aspire V3 571-9890. Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing, but I assumed the model was 9890...the 9800 series Service manual is talking about 18 and 21 inch screens, though, so that's definitely not mine.

Just look at the Acer V3 571 service manual. The 9890 designates the hardware trim it comes with.

The Acer V3's do not come with a dual lvds cable.
However you can buy a custom made one. I know because I purchased a Acer V3 cable but I didn't check properly and I found out afterwards the screen is a eDP port instead of a standard lvds.

So if you're interested, I can sell you the dual lvds cable for the Acer V3.

Will it fit the screen mentioned above?
I tried to find the V3 571 user manual in the link in the sticky, but was unable to since they all seem to be a 4-digit model number. If you've got a cable that will fit my laptop and I can get the screen I need, then I am all set and can get this process moving!
