I recently bought a second hand Acer Aspire V3-772G, I like it quite a lot, but noticed that it gets very hot very fast, even though there is no dust around the fan.

I only now noticed something: my laptop is blowing air OUT of the bottom of the laptop and is sucking it IN at the grill on the side. This does not seem right to me, is this the cause of my overheating? If so, how can I change the direction that the fan is spinning in?

It actually does seem to be the wrong direction to me too.
Let's see if other V3 users can chime in.

You can't reverse the fan anyway - it would have to be installed upside down.

That's very weird, it's blowing in the wrong direction. Is the laptop still under warranty?

If so send it back to Acer and let them know about the problem, if you leave the laptop the way it is over time even under normal use the laptop will get permanently damaged.

I've never heard of any laptop Acer or any brand having the fan exhaust on the bottom, unless the fan has de-dusting mode but as per instructions on all laptop that do have de-dusting mode the mode should never be tuned on for normal use only in short period to remove dust from the fan, as far I know all Acer V3 models do not have fan de-dusting mode.
