    Hello,

My Acer Aspire V5-573G was preinstalled with Windows 8.1, but I saw some thread here on this forum which said that it would be possible to run Windows 7 on the laptop, so i downgraded the aweful Windows 8.1 to Windows 7. The official acer drivers are only available for Windows 8.1, but i managed to install some on Windows 7. Now i've got a problem, because my wireless connection isn't working. As soon as I connect a cable, it's connected to the internet. I tried to install a driver of Qualcomm Atheros or something like that, but as soon as i open the setup, the setup closes.

What the hell should I do now? I'm pretty stressed out because i've got to use my laptop for my study, and wireless is the only option available on my school.

    Thanks!

Does the card show in Device Manager? Do you have Launch Manager installed?

I've just tried to search and install Launch Manager, I installed it but i don't notice anything different.

    Thanks for your fast reply!

    EDIT

I tried removing the driver and reinstalling it, but then I get this message:

Judging by the fact that you have two devices lacking a driver and one of those is a Broadcom Bluetooth device, I'm guessing the Wi-Fi card is also Broadcom made, which is why you can't install drivers from Atheros properly.

    The hardware ID is:
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4359&SUBSYS_E04B105B&REV_00

But where can i get the right Windows 7 x64 driver?

    EDIT

I've installed this http://www.driveridentifier.com/sca...1cb2dba06158/2156969432/PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4359 and it now works!

Thanks for your help, +1 for this forum!

There's an update tool on Acer's website. It detects the hardware and downloads tha latest Acer variants.

It does that indeed but since Acer almost never update any drivers, this will be the initial driver the notebook had been launched with. It is a good idea to detect hardware and get working base drivers though.

Exactly. At least you can confirm your hardware.
