    EDIT:
First thing i need to say, this sound does NOT come from the external speaker. It is comming from inside the computer so most likely the beeper on the motherboard.. if modern laptops still have one xD

okaii so i have an Acer Aspire 5542, and yes i know when you plug it into mains and unplug, it beeps, through the speaker. But even if it is unplugged, and muted (which proves it aint the speaker), when i move or knock the laptop slightly, it beeps a few times. A different number of beeps each time. The only weird thing is, is that i cannot manually generate the beep by shaking the laptop. It happens when it wants to, must be when its moved in a certain way  :twitchy:

does anyone know why this happens?

I know that WD 500gb have a tiny built in beeper/speaker and when i use it in a external enclosure it sometimes makes a beeping noise.

you should check the hdd`s smart status with free hdtune , maybe the beeps are data errors and the hdd might be loose or something.

Could be a crappy AC connection on your laptop. Is the pin loose? Any damage to the AC adapter?

Could something be loose inside, or a bad soldier?
