Slowly installing my necessary apps to my brandnew Acer Aspire 1410 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits. Experiencing a few annoying problems and cannot find solutions. Who is familiar with these issues:
- Seems the wireless adapter sometimes spontaneously disables itself. Result: internet connection stops. My other laptop works fine, so the connection itself with/from my WAP is ok. Cannot find any cause. Sometimes it helps to use the WiFi switch under the signal lamps or to activate the troubleshooter, sometimes not. Sometimes the laptop<>wifi connection is marked X, sometimes warning 'limited access'. Strange: sometimes there is NO problem at all, but the tray icon says there IS a problem, red crossed. How come? What to do?
- Adobe Reader is unusable, both the Dutch and the English version. Strangely enough it takes control over all my *.exe files: these get the adobe icon, and when activated the reader starts, saying: i can not handle this type of file. My solution so far: uninstall Adobe Reader and start using Foxit Reader
- Cannot play *.swf files. Adobe Flash Player is apparently NOT installed, although i did that 10x already, with 'good result'. But in the file list *.swf is associate with 'unknown application' and flash player cannot be found in the two program file lists. Any alternative player available? Or any other solution?
- the newest Firefox crashes more often than before.
- sometimes i have no access to the Windows Start button, can only hard reset the machine.
- Are these problems Acer/model related? Windows 7 related? 64 bits related?
Thanks!
