    Hi,
I received this warning(attachment) this morning and ran malwarebytes and found nothing harmful.
Now my Acer screen saver has disappeared from the drop down menu(attachment).
Could someone please let me know how to recover it.
    Model:Aspire5610z

That warning.. which action did you take? Since it's gone, hopefully, it's in quarantine.

I have denied access by clicking OK. Does it mean that I have lost the Acer screen saver? Thank you.

try restart your computer. and then it should come back (as long as you didn't check the 'note action' box; if you did check the box, then there is something else you will have to do), if it doesn't come back, go to c:\windows right click acer.scr and click install.

When I tried to install Acer.scr the Anti Virus window pop ups repeatedly. I am sure it is a false positive because it has been working fine until this morning. I am going to try system restore and report back.

How about click ignore and "note action selected"?

You can go to expert config mode of your AV to set it ignore the Acer.screen saver main folder(directory folder) both scanning and guard.
I have all my CRACKs(^^!) ignored by my AV. So, they won't destroy them. LOL.

Unfortunately, in this case the main folder is the Windows directory which would cause the AV to skip/ignore the presence of a number of viruses.

It is very rare for a virus to go into the Acer Screen saver folder 1st.
Virus would 1st goes to system registry and system files in order to duplicate themselves endlessly.

Some key-loggers go to C:\WINDOWS, then again a keylogger isn't exactly a virus I guess..
