I have an Acer Aspire 5735-4774 that when i start it up it makes a sound like the fan is rubbing agianst something but I have opened the back of it up and I can't see where the sound is coming from. Sometimes the sound stops and starts again after a few minutes and sometimes it won't ever stop. I've read some other stuff about this noise about what it could be, so how do i know if maybe it is the fan and i just dont know it or is it the hard drive or any other ideas on whateelse it could be

After just over one year with limited use, my Acer 5535 has started similar humming, but not too loud. It appears to be the bearings or bushings in the hard drive. I'm not worried at the moment, but if it gets worse, I definitely will replace the HD before it fails... it has been just over the 1 year warranty period.
