Does anybody know where I can find to download this software?
I erased it after a clean install of windows 8.

You could try here - Acer Backup Manager - NewTech Infosystems Software Informer. - it looks like what you're after? (thanks to Google for the link). Hope this helps.
-
I wish it was that easy.
I did that search myself...
This link forces me to download a program tha searches for updates.
I did it but the backup manager didnt show.
Also, if i press download the links are two:
The first one downloads an update whih equires the software to be already installed and the second one (mirror) shows HTTP 400 Bad Request.
The maker of this software is nti so I downloaded from the site the software that I thought it is the right one but again, on the extraction proccess there is a bad cab file. -
Hello again. I'm sorry that link didn't help, I did no more than have a quick look. What model Acer have you got? I can't remember for sure whether the ERecovery app on the Programs tab (on the Acer support page for your model) includes the NTI backup software or not but if that programs available for yuour model it may be worth downloading and installing it? Maybe someone else will jump in here and confirm whether or not this is the case. If you can't get hold of the software I do have a copy of the expanded zip that I downloaded that I could rezip and let you have if you want to email me ( my user id ) (at) (btinternet.com)?

Thanks for the reply.
I have a 5942g (Erecovery not supperted for this model) and surely I havent used that software much but in this way I have a macro button which is useless and I would like it to work.
I can not assign to it another software unfortunately.
Thanks for the email, but if you mean to send me the ercovery, it wont do...
I just need the backup manager, log ago a member here has downloaded every bloatware of this laptop to a filesharing site but now its down. -

Oh, all right!
The software that might do is this:
NTI - Support - OEM Resources - DVD Burning Software, Data Backup Software, CD Burning, Blu-ray Burning Software - Official Site
I guess you have the standard, right?
That won't work either as I already have it!
Thank you anyway! -
Well I have a copy of installation files for this app (2.0 version) from my apps & drivers DVD.
I can share it if you want.lkgonzales likes this. -
Of course but will it work?

PM sent. It's a Dropbox link so I won't make it public- on a forum like this it would result with an insane traffic.
EDIT: The way to change key binding for "Backup key"
Launch regedit.
Go to: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Inventec\LManager\Settings\Buttons\Backup
Here you change two things:
Command has to be set to whatever you want Launched i.e. c:\windows\system32\calc.exe would launch calculator
Command Type has to be set to 1 -
Thank you!
Software worked and I will definately try the binding.
Rep. added. -
Unfortunately I cant find Wow6432....
My Launch manager I think its dritek so maybe thats why but I cant find that or any similar thing either.
edit: I fount it in Compal folder.
Everything is fine.
Thank you all for answering, I consider this problem solved. -

Hi there. Here's the link. Please conform once you've got it so I can remove it.
It's an install folder from DVD packed with RAR but otherwise untouched. -
Hello, could you share Acer backup manager again? I would be really grateful.
-
Hi @Dabolx , I'm looking for recovery & backup DVDs. I made a grave mistake of tidying everything up and now I have no idea where anything is. I haven't frown them away - that's for sure. I'll upload as soon as I find this damn box.
-
If you are still in the possession of the files, I would be grateful if you could forward me the installation files. -
I lost my disks with software, then I found them by accident and put them somewhere.
I'm not at home right now so please give me until Tuesday and if I don't respond till then, please bump this thread.
I'll try to find those DVDs and upload this application for you. -
-
@gadget_hunter OK, that's what I got. The original Backup Manager from my DVD that came with a laptop is here (whichever version it is) and a link to an update from NTI is here.
I hope that helps. Let me know once you've downloaded the first file so I can delete it from my Dropbox.gadget_hunter likes this. -
Many thanks -
@downloads (or anyone else!) - If you still have the Backup Manger files and would be willing, could you please post them for me? I have been in contact with Acer about the program and they have given me two weeks of runaround! I had used it to back up my laptop but now cannot restore files as Acer will not provide the Backup Manager! I have found the update from NTI but need the program before NTI will allow it to be updated.
You would be a lifesaver! -
I'm afraid I won't be able to help you - the DVD that I had this backed up on has stopped working sometime between January when I last used it and now. It's scratch free and was kept in proper conditions but it was 6 years old at this point so I guess that's how it ends.
I tried to make an image of said DVD hoping that I will be able to read this particular file but that did not work either - it's never even fully detected by the drive so imaging software can't get to work.
My last hope was that I have a backup of my laptop from January the 4th in which case I would have this files backed up in Dropbox folder but unfortunately my backups stretch only back to February 27th at this point.
I'm out of options here. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.ergopowr likes this. -
Bummer... However, thank you for all your effort! -
An update for all needing Acer’s Backup Manager. So, after spending the evening sulking about not being able to track down any copies of the software, I decided to clean up the files I had installed (all the NTI products I had installed with the hope of being able to access and restore my backed up files). In scanning through Windows program manager, I notice a Gateway (Gateway, Acer, and eMachines are all one company now, fwiw) product has been installed when I used the ACER eRecovery discs. It is called “Gateway MyBackup.” The weird part is that it does not show up in any start/app menus. So, I traced it back to its source location on the hard drive and installed it. It is the same program as Acer’s Backup Manager but skinned with Gateway name and logo instead. As I type this, I am in the middle of it SUCCESSFULLY running the restore! Gateway/Acer/eMachines must have an extra line or two of coding that made the backed up files only accessible via their version of NTI’s backup software!
I hope that this might be able to help at least a few of the MANY (do a quick Google search for people with this very issue! – No thanks to Acer!) that unknowingly found themselves in a similar situation!downloads likes this.
