    Guys

Have a Acer 8940g which is effectivly the same unit as the 8935G, 8942G, 8943G.

I have installed a bluetooth Broadcom module BCM2046, however when turned on, the blue, bluetooth light flashes at a fast pace, however when connecting for a few seconds a device the light momentarly stops.

As the orange wireless light located underneath does, I think the bluetooth light should stay solid and flicker on and off only when activity is present.

    Any help appreciated.

Bad luck to the aussies in the football :(

    Cheers

The after market BT modeule do that. I have the same thing with the one I put in my 1410T. It works fine.

How about that call on USA.

So on the Acer notebooks that come with bluetooth from the factory, their bluetooth light constantly flashes too?

Not on my 6920g. Would depend on the module used, as I assume the illumination would be controlled at the module level since without the module the light will not come on.

I think drivers may also effect it, my wifi behaves differently in linux than in windows, never used BT in linux thou.

No idea. I just know that the after-market models do but it does not affect their performance. I guess you should be able to order the facotry part to install if you want. It will cost you a bit more than $20.

How do I even order the factory part? I don't see an online parts store on Acer's website.

I've checked eBay and none of the BT2.2 models specifically show if they have the constant flashing bluetooth LED.

I want one that flashes only when there is data being transferred.

    Hi guys

Well it turns out the module and wire purchase from ebay was faulty, the seller sent the wrong wire that connects the module to the laptops motherboard. the seller told me the fix was to cut the 4th and sent a picture with a arrow to cut the 4th, when cut didn't work at all.

So purchased from another seller, cable sent was completely different, and works fine, but just want to confirm is the light meant flash on and off when there is activity like the wifi does?

Because when i don't use the bluetooth mouse for a while the light stops (no communication activity) then starts again when i use the mouse.....

I know some users have changed reg files to stop the wifi light to stop blinking when there is communication activity(downloading) but is not as annoying as the bluetooth light flash nearly all the time with use of a bluetooth mouse.

    Cheers
