Has anyone been to ACER Canada in Mississauga? I got a new laptop and the adapter makes a high pitched squeal. I want to get it replaced. I called the service number on the acer Canada web page and of course you get someone in Texas and he advised me he had no idea if I could take the adapter there to have it replaced. Was wondering if anyone here has been to the office in Mississauga and if so, if this is something they would exchange for me.

    Thanks.

    Hi!

I had a problem with my computer and I sent it there and they send it me back after 2 days... So if you ship your adapter there, you'll get back in 1-2 weeks...

Yeah the guy in texas made it sound like thats what they would do (just send me another one) so I might take them up on it. It was just a really odd conversation. Very unprofessional.

I phoned an Acer Canada support number I found of all places, on MDG's site. The rep I got was very professional but had that 'just out of bed' sound to him. In any case he said the problem was NOT NORMAL and issued a replacement which I should expect in the next week. Great people, thanks a ton Acer!!

I called 1-800-816-2237. Its really the number for extended warranties but they will also handle standard warranty claims. Let me know how it goes.

hello, i have an Acer TravelMate 2428 and i have noticed the computer goes to a black screen sometimes (it occured to me like 5 times so far), and i press the sleep buton than when it resumes it goes back and works fine. But the last time it has not worked.

Everything else on the computer seems to be working fine, but i get black screen and it seems that the monitor was unpluged. I really do not know what is it, how do i contact the Acer support to help me?

    I am in Canada now

That seems like more of a Windows problem then a hardware one. Reinstall Windows maybe.

Thats the number I called and ended up with someone in Texas.
Called the number again and got someone who was much more professional (still in Texas though). Didn't have any problems getting it replaced

i notice it happened when i was switching or when the dynamic was activated (that switch the processor speed from 600mhz to 1700mhz), and the last time i got black screen, last night, i had switched manually from High to Low (1700mhz to 600mhz).

How long does it takes to Acer support get the notebook fixed? Anyone in Canada (Toronto) used it?

I just filled the FixAcer, asking for them to pick up here but i will leave canada in 34 days, around 30 days will be enough for me to get my computer back? Any experiences regarding it?

Thanks for the informations so far
