Just caught sight of them on Acer Canada's catalog PDF - these look like the true bad boys of the Gemstone Blue lineup.

The top model in particular, the AS8935-7791, looks like a beast:
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 at 2.0Ghz
    Two 500GB 5400rpm hard drives
    4GB of DDR3-1066 RAM
ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4670 with 1GB VRAM
    BD-ROM/DVD+-RW drive
18.4" WUXGA drive (assumed - sheet sez "Full HD")
    802.11a/b/g/n wireless card
    8-cell battery
    Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

And a price tag of $2099 CAD.
All three announced models of the 8935G have that oh-so-sweet Radeon HD 4670, but the other two only carry one hard drive and two CPU cores.

Sweet, a good way to purchase Windows 7 if I don't say.

Yes a great way to purchase Windows 7. I was looking at the quad core AS8930-7665 which has the Nvidia and only one 5400 500 gig HD. But this system sparks my interest even more. I saw a review of the 8930-7665 on Newegg where the guy purched 2 500 gig 7200 rpm drives and replaced the 5400 and it screams. I also removed the Acer bloatware and it even boots fast. I've also seen questions on forums about quad versus core 2 duo processors. I think as the software gets optimizied in the future to take advantage of the 4 cores you will see more of a reason to select quad core over Core 2 duo.

This will most likely be my new laptop once they start shipping it with Windows 7, however I can't help but wish that the top model included a Radeon HD 4850 instead of the 4670.
